The inaugural History Festival of Ireland is curated by author and historian Turtle Bunbury and is a brand new initiative of Carlow Arts Festival – Éigse 2012.  It aspires to educate and to be a bit of fun, to resolve and to confound, to question and to explore. Ireland boast dozens fo literary restival and spoken work events, but none of them give themselves over full to the discussion of history…. and the things that we have and have not learned from it.

“Was the Queen’s visit something of historical impact or was she just getting a look at Coolmore?” Chaired by Diarmaid Ferriter with Myles Dungan,  Manchán Mangan & Tom Sykes

Seating in the Library is strictly limited to 90 persons per event so please book early to avoid disappointment.
