The National Chamber Choir, under the directorship of internationally celebrated conductor Paul Hillier, will be making their first ever appearance at the Éigse Carlow Arts Festival this June. On this occasion the Choir will present a programme entitled Brahms and Early Music which marries the wonderful romanticism of the music of Brahms with an aural feast of music by Palestrina and Gabrieli.
The Choir, which is made up of vocalists drawn from the ranks of Ireland’s leading choral singers, has garnered much acclaim from audiences and critics alike both in Ireland and abroad. Multi award winning conductor Paul Hillier took over as chief conductor and artistic director in 2008 and under his leadership The National Chamber Choir continues to explore new and interesting areas of work across musical periods and genres.
In the beautiful setting of St. Mary’s Church, the dulcet tones of this distinguished choral ensemble are sure to fill the room and your ears! Members of Aspiro Choir will participate in a workshop with tenor Alan Leech of the NCC and will also feature as part of the programme.
