With their debut album Serious About Menall over the Irish charts this Christmas and new single ‘Shift Girls’ clocking up the views, Mr. Chrome and Blindboy Boatclub with Dj Willie O’Deajay (He’s not their father, he’s their mother’s boyfriend) are down visiting Carlow’s lovely Garden Trail and taking in all the sights. They’ll be standing by with the Kleenex following the Ireland-Spain Euro 2012 match (8.45pm in your local)—and take to the stage at 11pm, bagged and bonkers, the moment the ref blows the whistle.
Having shot to worldwide fame in 2010, it’s been a momentous year for the comedy hip-hop outfit from Limerick. Blindboy Boat Club and Mr. Chrome became internet superstars after “Horse Outside” premiered on RTÉ’s Republicof Tellyand subsequently went viral (over 8 million views and counting!).
Their new single ‘Black Man, cult hit ‘Spastic Hawk’ and ‘I Wanna Fight Your Father’ are some of the tracks their debut album from earlier in the year, Serious About Men.

Oxegen, Electric Picnic, and Leeds festivals, a sold out run of shows inNew York, an Australian tour and a pile of gigs all overIrelandhave kept the bandit boys busy for the past year. They are working on a show commissioned by Channel Four to air this summer too, so frankly it’s a miracle they have time to kill hanging around Carlow.
If the Social get wind of Lill Ms Rent Allowances’ nixer as the support act, we’ll have to pull it.
“a genuinely subversive and brutally smart act who kick dirt in the eye of middle Ireland.” Irish Times
