The 32nd annual Éigse Carlow Arts Festival which takes place this year from June 10th to 19th is only a few weeks away! Highlights this year include Neil Hannon of The Divine Comedy performing with his new band The Duckworth Lewis Method in The Tower, Dinn Rí and comedian Jason Byrne from RTÉ’s Anonymous taking to the stage in The Seven Oaks Hotel as well as bringing Ireland’s first outdoor Water Park to the River Barrow!
Éigse is one of Ireland’s most established multi disciplinary arts festivals and we recently picked up a Carlow Business Chamber Award for our contribution to tourism in Carlow as well as being nominated for the 2010 Irish Festival Awards in multiple categories. To further our efforts in improving tourism in the county we want to work with Carlow businesses and find a way to make Éigse work for you.
There are many ways for you to get involved with this year’s festival:
• Our Friends of the Festival packages have been redesigned this year offering improved benefits at lower rates to match the current economic climate and to allow everyone have their own stake in the festival. Included with this letter you will find a full list of what we are offering this year. Becoming a festival friend offers multiple publicity opportunities for your business and shows your clients that you support local ventures and the effort to improve tourism in Carlow.
• Celebrating the 220th anniversary of the River Barrow this year we have a huge range of fun events planned beside and even in the river! We have an inflatable Water Park and lots of water games. We’ll be looking for teams to join the Carlow v Graiguecullen Water Tug of War, raft races and lots of fun and games. Keep an eye out for posters closer to the time or call us on 059 9140491.
• What’s Your Doodle? is a new initiative designed to bring out the artist in everyone. Drawing paper, post its and markers will be sent out to businesses in Carlow and we want your staff and customers to do their doodles on them. Display your collection of doodles – in your window / a designated Doodle area / on your website or online social sites such as Facebook and Twitter or contact us for ideas on how you can make the most of engaging with your Doodle-customers! This is a really good way of helping your customers / clients get involved.
• We want you to piggy-back on the arrival of Éigse in June and make it work for you. Put on ‘festival fever’ special offers, leave out some crayons for the kids, paint your windows in red and white and keep copies of our brochure and flyers on display. It will really give the impression to visitors that there is a festival buzz around the town and it will make them want to return. If you would like to include festival tickets in your special offers / packages we can also offer you discounted tickets to certain festival events and with both the festival and your business promoting the offers / packages, we’ll reach twice as many customers, so everyone wins.
Brochures and flyers will be distributed to homes and businesses in the run up to the festival. If you wish to discuss any of the above with us or you have any other ideas, call into the office, give us a ring on 059 9140491 or fill out the form below and we will tailor a package to suit you and your customers’ needs.
Looking forward to engaging with you for this year’s festival…. Let the fun begin!
